Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful....

Sleeping of course,
my mind that of child's
as I dream-wandered wondering,
thoughts running wild.
How I want it to snow!
How I love it's soft touch
as it lands on my face
feeling cold, not that much.

I awoke looking out
at the whiteness on hand.
My eyes smiling bright
as I let them command
me to search for my boots,
my gloves to keep warm,
'til I dressed and piled on,
clothing padding my form.

I hurried to hurry
before I wore out
the excitement of "playing"
snow songs sung enroute.
My bundled up body,
scarfed, hooded in know
that I'm off to play child-like
in knee deep of snow.

*to be continued*

Seems the snow on the outside
Brings the inner child out

I believe the next line is
“but the fire inside is delightful”
which is more my mood, to stay in beside the burning
to be warm,
but…
enjoyed this await a poem of your snow play

This is a wonderful poem. And, the picture is perfect. I like the snow, but not when I have to get out in it.

Maureen, I love to read about the snow and to see pictures of it.
I'm looking forward to seeing the continuance.

..."as I dream-wandered wondering"...

I love the way you write these wonderfully creative lines!

This poem was a joy to read and experience. It is one that I want to read again and again.

BTW, it puts a smile on my face to see that you are writing from a happier place!

~ warm hugs to you!

Professor, I love  being inside being warmed by a fire and arms' holding.

SmartChick, Oh what good is snow if it's only to look at

Sy, you remember those snow days of youth?
We didn't have our schools closed down. If you got to school, then they were open.

Ethel, I hope you have seen and been in snow...I don't know how anyone could never experience it at least once.

Linda, I have no idea where those twists of words come from. They just happen to fit the meter and rhyme at times. And as far as the happier place is, I boomerang, my moods will swing and one day I will write happy and the next seem sad. But it is just thoughts swirling around and I am  always really "ok". So don't worry the next time a sad poem erupts from me...it doesn't mean a thing. *s
Thank you
*hugs*
M

Duncan,  just love  the warmth after the snow. Actually I feel warmer when it snows than in just cold weather. It seems to insulate this old house.  Fun it is!!

Donna, we are still getting more.Probably will be about 11 inches before it's done.
Thanks, and I hope you have some time to play in it later.
I especially like the evening walks because the snow brightens the night.
hugs

Martie, for the rest of my life my motto will be that "I can always have fun if I want to."

Yes, I love the snow, the deeper the happier I am. *s

Thank you
