Foibles

Foibles on a dance floor
Shook her to the very core.
A maiden fair was roughly spun
Around and round in the wild of fun

There in the music’s sway
Twirling in the oddest way
He thought he followed rhythms beat
That only to her were tangled feet

Wonderment set his face
With each miss step that he did grace
He really did not seem to know
That his pivoting was on her toe

He stopped in shear delight
Looked upon a face of white
And thought he was the prince of flair
And he asked once more if she would care?

She gave his nose a playful pull
And said no thanks my card is full.

Oh yeah, I've danced with someone like that, too.....more than once.
I know though, Mr. Seymour, that this one wasn't about you.....
You have too much grace to step on someone's toes...
but, just in case you did, you would get more chances, I'm sure.

Me thinks this must have been the polka. Fun, but dangerous.

Good morning, Mr. T.

I would always make room for you on my dance card! And since I used to be a dancer, if you wanted some free lessons, I would love to whirl and twirl with you---across a dance floor that is! (I never know if Isabelle is reading or watching! tehe)

P.S. Even if you gave me a black eye, and broke my shoes by stepping on them (all which occurred on my very first date with a very enthusiastic, yet clumsy, young lad!)--it would still be a pleasure to be in your company--and your wife's of course! tehe

As one who's trod on toes that she
also used to step on me,
I laughed until I could not see
At such a dance in disharmony.

Nice job!!  KJ

I loved this!  I love to dance, and dance even doing housework.  However, to a dancer there is nothing worse than sending even one song with those guys with their foibles, cause they get me "fumb" down,   You are the cutest patootie in Florida you know that right?

Let there be peace on earth,

Sharon,
Patootie is not a word of your generation, where did you find it? But thank you anyway.

Maureen,
LOL back to you.

JM,
Never knew a moth that couldn't dance
Not if given half a chance.
So take hold of Randy and spin around
He'll love it and won't make a sound.
