land of flora and fauna

I mourn the waste
of that empty time,
when paper wings
kissed the edge
of a jagged sky
and tore
into a freefall

I grasped air
with paper-shred fingers
and a promise
to never again
fly in a sky
of need
or feel
or want

yet even birds
seek a warmer place
instinctively

and too,
these senses;
sleeping bare
beneath white-whipped sky,
waiting for a north wind
and the sound of wings
sweeping from
patterned flight

to pluck awake
forward time
in a warmer place--
grasping real,
and a promise
to hold and be held
in that place
where we
were meant to be
instinctively

(big hugggsssssss) I too am so discouraged by that truth, and wish we can follow our instincts as we please while also being reasonable, and that is just the problem, what is defined as reasonable? (sigh) This is very touching, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
