Desperate embers,
the glow of a lifetime
such a pretty sight,
more beautifull than I could have imagined

Grew larger still,
Something that wanted anything.
Something that wanted everything.
That took over.
So much destruction.

Greed,
heat like I could never imagine
nothing stood in its way.
I wanted to put it out,
but what's one girl going to do?

Strange to say.
It is not fire I am talking about

Liz,  you write with much depth...and the
riddle of this could be taken in several
thoughts...I would guess greed or lust for
something would certainly qualify...

I love the way you conveyed something as "such a pretty sight, more beautifull than I could have imagined" yet it took over and you wanted to destroy it.

You wrote it just brilliantly!
keep it up

Always, GG

Enjoyed this so much...perhaps it's love, or time.
