  Riding the Moon

The night was clear and the stars shone bright,
The moon brighter still.
I looked up at that glorious full moon,
And for the first time I saw the tales it told.
Somehow there were shadows that played upon it,
Revealing secrets never told.
I saw some that were fictitious, some the tales of old,
Of knights in gleaming armor and maidens very bold.
Some of the night was spent in laughter,
Some in tears.
And as the sky turned to pink and orange
I looked up at that fading moon,
And I saw my very own tale, riding upon the moon.

When we face that ancient sphere our tales are indeed timeless. Why not? Enjoyed and chin up.

Woah, I'm really liking what you're writing

One thing that I did notice was in this bit:
"The night was clear and the stars shone bright,
The moon brighter still."

I thought that it would flow a little better if you changed it to
"The moon was brighter still."
But that's just me and my obsessiveness over flow lol. I really truly enjoy what I've been reading from you, and I hope that you continue to post

No, on second thought, let's not go to Camelot.

Oh, this was a joy to read and to experience. I too, am a gazer, lover, and romanticizer of the moon. Thank you for this lovely poem!

I had the feeling of being told fairy tales as a child at bedtime when I read this. Beautifully written.
