Sun-dipped leaves, shifting gray-thin branches
My god damaged heart, cracked a twig
In my pocket, kicked out: as I walked
On a corn field at the end of a pumpkin patch.

Stems and ditches bleed
Empty shotgun shells stuffed
With wooden crumbs.

Leaves are scattered by the gun
And a unpainted shack;
The sweetest Nose,
Barks at the smoke and a shadow

Now that is what I call a colorful, powerful piece of writing. Excellent!

Robert

Something about this was so sweet, yet it hurt.  Enjoyed!

That last line is eerie...well, I guess, really, it's the last word. The elements are vivid, but I can't really determine fully what they are, in composite.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Now, Robert, I was going to be smart and tell everybody that
you were with a hunting dog.......then, you gave your
explanation in your response to Virginia.
I really liked the picture you painted with your words, Robert.
