Competence is requisite to promotion
Coleridge says every church almost had the Bible of a sundry translation
If "A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."
Then Victoria’s Secret is a paradoxical oxymoron

Hail to the Chief, what a jangle
But it always seem to take more than two to tango
As long as “the chicken is involved and the pig committed” is logically taken
I can’t help but think if the truth is but Canadian bacon

My minds eye is but an aphelion to me
I can’t tell cosmology apart from cosmogeny
What’s dogmatic seems unorthodox
So I give it away, for that’s the truth about cats and dogs
That’s the truth about cats and dogs

When did we all divide?
When did we all become prototypes?
To the grand scale?
When did we all divide?
When did we all become prototypes?
To the grand scale?

To die another day sounds asbestic
But I can only afford so many layers so it sounds too hectic
The truth is there, but elusive like some penumbra
Like a child’s mosquito bites you don’t know the sum of

When will I get this whole damn concept of absolute magnitude?
When my eyes can’t even register beyond 60 times a second?
With Bushleaguers lost in their confidence and the First Amendment rewritten?
Heck, I’ll go off in a Saros cycle till I watch it all translated

Now you sell the Rosetta stone on your black market
Even a fool can understand the hieroglyphics
While the appraisers are only interested in the luster
Because their thumbs are tucked over the inscriptions
Their thumbs are tucked over the inscriptions

When did we all divide?
When did we all become prototypes?
To the grand scale?
When did we all divide?
When did we all become prototypes?
To the grand scale?

I’ve heard honest men lie
I’ve seen gravity been defied
I’ve seen laughter among the hopeless
I swear through your laugh I hear a cry
In print there is an underlying cursive
Every also-ran still wears those Kawasakis
Every winner can be the sorest loser
Sometimes that velvet glove is just another synecdoche

Go, go, get into single file
Go, go, get into single file
Go, go, get into single file
Go, go, get into single file
Go, go, get into single file
Go, go, get into single file
Go, go, get into single file
Go, go, get into single file

When did we all divide?
When did we all become prototypes?
To the grand scale?
When did we all divide?
When did we all become prototypes?
To the grand scale?

GO, GO, GET INTO SINGLE FILE!
GO, GO, GET INTO SINGLE FILE!
GO, GO, GET INTO SINGLE FILE!
GO, GO, GET INTO SINGLE FILE!

Stanley,
Although I enjoyed the write, your symbols for zyzygy stretch a little beyond my cope.
Some of your lines strike like shooting stars and some explode like fire works.
But still I fell off the edge. Interesting

Very, very cool poem... I like all the social commentary that you mixed in.  Your choice of vocab is also excellent.

I truly enjoyed this.
