If a songbird does not sing,
Does music lie within its breast?
Amid the prairie, endless prairie,
Blowing winds and swirling dust.
In plum thicket's stinging barbs,
Lays sanctuary for the wren,
If a poem is unwritten,
Does the poet speak somewhen?
In the distance flows the river,
Deep within its current swirling,
In the breast of swollen river,
Sings the hymn of life unfurling,
As out the west from distant mountain,
Blows the wind unto the prairie,
Blows symphony of alpine anthem,
To rhythm of the endless prairie.
O' songbird hidden in plum's thicket,
I hear your song, 'lo hear sweet song,
Within your breast flows wind and river,
Within your breast flows poet's long.

(sigh) Oh Tim, I got that song "Bobwhite" by Bobby Darin stuck in my head reading this, that every songbird has the soul to sing and just because the songbird may be hiding the thickets the thickets sing too! (big hugggsssss) This is beautifully moving, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Tim, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I like this poem! Great imagery. Yes, I think an unwritten poem is still said, without a poets heart and soul, from where and whence all poems originate!

*hugz* Thanks!

Every heart has hidden treasures...a secret wish, a silent dream, and a cherished love. [Unknown]
