Dried Mums

they sit
knee-deep in water
yet
zapped of energy
of power
to gain any life
from the depths
of nourishment given
no longer
can they draw in the sustenance
of living
they simply await
their crumbling,
they're becoming a different
piece of the universe,
as time claims them

Yes, I liked this poetry, it is undescribable. I want to say "down to Earth," but it just doesn't fit. It is interesting and definately not like most poetry I have read

You know, I have three flowers sitting in an old beer bottle in water... I've had them there for about three weeks. I've watched them go from brilliant blooms to wilting, flowers, as time claims them. *smiles* thanks for the read.

No, on second thought, let's not go to Camelot.
