I needed insppiration, so I just started singing, and this came out of nowhere. It reminds me of my mom, so I'm dedicating it to her I was afraid, To take that road, You can say I was a coward, But I couldn’t bear my load. Well I’m on my way, I’m on my way And I left you behind… See ya later boy! Thought you were good for me, I was out of my mind, But now I’m on my way, And I left you behind I couldn’t sail the ocean, Without a man by my side, I couldn’t think, for myself Always needed you to guide, But I am smarter now, And I’m not tryin’ to hide I wasn’t treated like a person, Just something for you to see, I could have sworn you loved me, But if you did, you’d set me free, Well I got away, not coming back, And I’m not begging you “please” Well I’m on my way, I’m on my way And I left you behind… See ya later boy! Thought you were good for me, But I was out of my mind, But now I’m on my way, And I left you behind I’m my own girl now, It didn’t take much to decide, Next time you think of me, Remember that I didn’t hide, Since I wasn’t happy, I just looked deep down inside, And now I’m on my way, And I didn’t say goodbye Never be normal! |

Good job Liz. I happened to have a CD of Connie Dover's on at the time, and perhaps that lent your song the lilt of her style of music, or vice-versa - but this is certainly one that is heard with the heart. Your mother is very proud, I am sure... |
