A face on a train reminds me of her,
standing at shore, flicking strands of wet hair.
Staring through sunlight as if life were a window
to all she’d amazed at, when the world was laid bare.

The moon rising gently, over ruins or trees
whistles me back to those soft summer days;
catching the wind shifting sands down the ocean,
arrested by innocence in warm August’s rays.

A face in the mirror tells me she’s gone,
that loneliness grows now this image is torn.
Yet sat in the silence with a photo in hand,
I’m right here beside her, through this darkening dawn.

Noticed  a poem in open 26 and was so taken with it, decided to look at your first poems, posted.

This is wonderful as the other.

Deeply touching, you remind me of another poet I've read....

Enjoyed, Pat
