The stars are shining
brightly in the velvet skies
whispering softly
Walking hand in hand
by the soft light of the moon
on the beach at night
With feet in the sand
we lie down on the blanket
while watching the stars
While we watch the stars
we dream and talk of our lives
hearing the soft waves
Planning our future
lying under sparkling stars
in black velvet skies
Lying side by side
on the white sand of the beach
we spoke of our dreams
We were there all night
with sun rising o'er water
the daybreak came forth
Sun shining brightly
with reflections of color
on clear blue waters
The suns rays shine forth
sending down feelings of warmth
on to the white sands
Sea shells on the sand
with the sound clearly inside
whispering softly
Softly in our ears
we hear sweet sounds of our dreams
and plans we have made

(These are eleven of the Japanese verses that I wrote all combined. I thought it was a little different. Maybe one day I will know exactly all the technical differences between a "haiku" and a "senryu". I love those little verses, don't you all? They are really fun to try to write.)

Virginia, thank you so much for reading and for your reply. I really appreciate your comments and instruction. Did you ever find that site you mentioned earlier about the technicalities of writing haiku's and senryu's? I really enjoy these and would like to know more about how to write them. Thank you, sweet lady.

its so lovely to see them all put together, and so breathtaking. they painted such a beautiful picture in my mind, it made me want to act it out. especially as you were describing one of my favourite places, mine happens to be, clifftops at night, seeing the stars and listening to the sea, so thanks.
lots of love gemma xxxx

(smiles and does happy dance) Yay!!! Oh my gosh, they look soooooooooo beautiful all together, you are just amazing, I could feel the ocean cradling me here, I LOVE IT!!! (kiss on cheek) There is no technical difference at all in the form between a haiku and senryu, simply a haiku is a 17-syllable verse, in 5-7-5, which talks of nature, whereas a senryu is the exact same form only it doesn't talk about nature! (big hugggsssssss) Yay, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
