I decided to venture out of teen and see what kind of response I got so here it is:

wind blows softly against my cheek
eyes go up to the sky
knowing it won't help
as the tears come
brushed away by the need to own
the want that cradles you in its arms
tempting you closer to your being
day by night it will perish
till the pen drops to the white paper below
moment's you give up will bring it
i never will
standing my ground
knowing the perils i face
being so young and fragile
yet stronger than any of you
the camera circles me
its time to go
i knew it was my chance
wouldn't let it pass
its once in never
go

Morning mist clings to my face, and my soul opens up to you......

Riley, it's good to see you here.  Nice writing!

The stars will shine when I am gone,
the earth will turn on as before,
the gulls, still race along the shore,
the morning star, still kiss the dawn
