the ass-end of space

The crescent moon beckons
in tongues sung softly
that only I may hear
Refuge in her pale light
the night a blanket black
that comforts me
Her silver rays shine
subtle light into my room
where deep in thought I lay
I wish I were more like her
but then I think maybe I am
sometimes full but mostly half
of what all I should be

Beautiful!

I love moonlight, the way it makes the shadows dance across the sky and in the world beneath it.  Such muted elegance can only be illuminated in the whisper of night!

Aenimal

To be at crescent is good...a changing thing, growing, yet still beautiful.  Enjoyed this.

Ah! Another spill of moonlight upon these blue pages.

And the questing? continues.

Don't get so lost within yourself, that you lose your bearings (marbles?)

Thank you Martie very nice words..

Wranx of course you're right and while sometimes I do get lost. But sometimes in losing oneself we find paths we'd never have found. There must be some happy medium but it eludes me still.

(smiles) Oh Aenimal, I truly think it is a blessing to be crescent, for no man is perfect and as our hearts grow with love and wisdom and we nurture the child within, an eclipse, an epiphany, a sprout of life is born and we find true light of happiness within the phenomenon! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Aenimal, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I enjoyed reading your poem. It was very pretty.
I love the moon, stars, sunsets and sunrises,
and the poems written about them.
Thanks for sharing with us.

do you ever get the feeling that the moon is just laughing at all the lovesick ones, under
its spell?

i found that so peaceful and descriptive.thankyou.
i'm saving this, it was like a lullaby. soft and soothing. despite the feeling youre half of what you can be, you also have the knowledge that you've still yet to grow in to your 'full moon'! and i'm sure with this recognition, you'll soon be there.
lots of love and hope, gemma xxxxx
p.s with each reading of each of your poems, you already appear to me, complete as a poet.

learning each day, for you and i, our paths have met, i've already learnt that you are love.
