somebody's dungeon

I found the picture album
in the menagerie of things
that now populate the storage
where the indian sings.

The pictures were saddened
all your smiles were upside down.
I can't believe that maybe
all you ever did was frown.

Something must have happened
over there with those folk,
they've taken all your photos
and given them a poke.

This made you seem unhappy
in each and every frame,
your sadness now is visible
you don't even look the same.

Not the same man that I loved
not the same one I adored,
why in some of the pictures
you actually look quite bored.

I'm thinking of going over
and talking to the owner
see if maybe there's a smiling
happy faced donor,

who'd be willing to let go
of his pearly little grin.
I'll paste it in the pictures
all the ones that you are in.

Then I'm moving all that stuff.
Can you imagine such a thing?
They put your perfect smile
on the indian who sings.

A singing indian who smiles!! Never!
I liked your whimsy it made me smile even though it was a little sad.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Anne, you speak of the Native Americans sorrow sso well here, sweet friend, I am half Cherokee Indian and I too am saddened for all my ancestors had to go through and hope now we can all rise together again and sing, for no other man can steal the song of the spirit! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, sing on, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Anne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Anne, for some reason this made me think of the first Thanksgiving. When the Indians and Pigrims had their first meal, I imagine that the Indian did smile and sing.
