Anamnesis

David, you should see the trees -
liquid gold striates bark
in breezy fascination -
and it’s snowing leaves.
I catch them with my tongue.

Lying on a bed of peat,
straw-colored clouds pass by.
There you are.
It’s deceptive,
this amber sky -
a trick of gauzy eyes,
for a blaze in the pines
paints this amber canvas;
you are gone.

When the wind undoes my raking,
I wonder what took you.
My fingers grasp decaying earth,
clawing for a clearing.

Corinne

WOW!!! Oh my gosh, this is a wonderful haunting poem, sweet friend, and you used this word erfectly, as truly isn't life all about piecing together a jigsaw of answers in promoting peace for onself and others! It is as though the truth is always hovering in mid-air, tantalizing us, and the complete history of this justice can be recollected just with a little fervor, a little faith, and to be willing, it's all psychological! (sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much, into my library this goes because this is one of my all-time favorites, yay! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corinne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Hi Corinne~
Thanks for missing me gal ...
I am posting only in Corner Pub and Spiritual as the 'adult-language' here in  many of the posts is offensive to me and a no-no according to the parents of the students I mentor ... so, hoping that some sort of 'warning' or password-protection comes into being for those of us who don't want to stumble into language we find objectionable.

Love you gal ... Happy Thanksgiving to you~
Pop into Corner Pub and see me sometime~
I'll buy !

Corrine, this is a very beautiful poem, as
is all your work, even though it is sad.
Thank you so much for sharing your poetry with us.

(To Marge......Friend, I've been wondering about you and missing you, too.
I didn't look in "Corner Pub" for you. I will, though. I wanted to
go to your website, but had lost the address.)

Corinne

The imagery of color and fall in this are just right for identifying the feeling of loss.  Very heart touching writing!

very interesting, well-worded, imagery-packed-to-perfection metaphor. there is much here that could be commented on, but i loved the twist of catching leaves with your tongue... the myriad of things that could be symbolized in such a simple, almost familiar phrase... much thought here, thank you.

Anamnesis? :-) Well, the mere act of me reading this, and, making an attempt at an intelligible reply is doing just that.
