We and friday mornings meet
or have before and so
there is a death to it and us
and I’m uneasy as I go.

Who will walk the pocket seams
the stitchings of the fall
when they mark a year or more
for I’m attached to all.

Who will weed the winter garden
keep the soil balanced clean
when only it an hour took
and I on you have learned to lean.

We and friday mornings meet
or have before and so
there is a death to it and us
and I’m uneasy as I go.

I won't say I understand it all
but there is a cadence call
the words shall linger in my brain
like a worry bead's clicked refrain

Sounds as though a life changing decision's been made. Just recall how TGIF and Saturdays are often adventures followed by a day of rest. Good luck.

smiling at Christopher's astonishment--indeed it does, and I love the curling of language to this, the unusual structure of your imagery reminds me very much of another favorite poet from passions, redheart angrybraids...

the spiral inward then outward to a point, unexpected and well worth the trip.

oh..and not only did it rhyme, but it's almost a sonnet...smiling again.

love it.

It would seem that a bit of the cummings bug has bitten in the rhyme of this one.

Thank you.

~ . I know, I know.

And you don't have to say that you like it, in order to stop in and comment about the rhyme. But if you do,...then ahh haa haa.

Thanks to all for reading and replying with such comments, such carefulness, little rhymes and understanding.

*Peace poets.

An incredible write with powerful images--and time passes, frightening when we actually stop to consider how quickly--enjoyed!
