If I were but the moon above,
...I'd wrap you in my glow,
Kiss you lightly on the brow,
...and on your heart bestow,
The splendor of high mountain’s peak,
...soft hush of evening's breeze,
The beauty of a springtime dawn,
...the warmth of tropic seas,
But such a wish would be for naught,
...as all my gifts would fail,
For the beauty of the moon itself,
...next to thee Rose, would pale.
I’d take you gently in my arms,
...and feel your warm embrace,
As light of heaven's stars above,
...shone down upon your face,
I’d see the glow of all my dreams,
...within your beauty there,
And touch upon moon's silver beams,
...as stroked your silken hair.
I’d hear sweet music of the muse,
...we’d dance throughout the night,
Free as the summer winds that blow,
...we would as one unite,
You’d be my goddess, Aphrodite,
...you’d touch within my soul,
And leave therein a satin bloom,
...a rose to make me whole.
I’d feel the splendor of the night,
...as heard your siren's song,
Breathing in your fragrant scent,
...I’d capture all I long,
Time would stand still, my Venus fair, …
...if I was in your arms,
The moon itself would bow to you,
...cede to your beauteous charms.
My eyes would drink of loveliness,
...soft grace of supple limb,
Sweet creature of the welkin blue,
...angelic seraphim,
I’d kiss the smoothness of your skin,
...as gazed into your eyes,
With soft caress on feathered wings,
...I'd float upon night's skies,
The morning star, you are the night,
...we'd dance 'cross heaven's floor,
Upon the clouds on winds of time,
...my darling Terpsichore,
I’d sing to you love's madrigal,
...I’d love you ever more,
I’d whisper softly to the wind,
...I love you evermore.
This is my yearn, my nightly quest,
...of which I will not fail,
For the beauty of the moon itself,
...next to thee Rose, doth pale.

Wow Tim!

This was absolutely stunning.  My mind was filled with knights in shining armour and fair maidens.

Take care.....Sue

Women are a lovely creation indeed!
How could we live without them?
Thanks for sharing.
God bless!
