He spoke of love, smiled and laughed
He held me in the still quiet night
He showed me the first real love in my life
...And the first real pain
No one knew what was going on
Below his beautiful, loving surface
No one knew the secrets he held
And the continual charade he played
I could feel his love in his touch
I could feel his soul in his kiss
But never could I feel this
The man I loved hid from me
He pryed out my horror, my pain
He healed what scars he could
Said he'd die to erase my past
What he couldn't mend
He made up for, with his love
He knew what this would do to me
And he sheltered me with himself
His already battered body
His beauty shown like a beacon home
He was always there to take care of me
Said he'd die to erase my pain
And that's exactly what he did
No one knew what was going on
Below his beautiful, loving surface
No one knew the secrets he held
And the continual charade he played
Loving, gentle, passionate, selfless,
Dieing, He knew what this would do
The cancer was killing him steadly
And he loved me more than himself
He made love with gentle passion
And listened with genuine intrigue
And died with true love
He healed all my scars
And left my heart empty
He said I was the greatest thing in his life
Didn't he know that he WAS my life?
He said I was the reason he was alive
Didn't he know that I couldn't survive without him?
He said I was all that had ever mattered
I told him I loved him
He said goodbye
I cried
Didn't God know that he was mine?
Mine to hold and love
Mine to keep
I was his to hold and love
I was his
I was him
Didn't God know that I was him?
Didnt God know that he left a part of him here
In me?
He was mine
And he was stolen.

Attila, I'm not one to write odes, but I'll make an exception
