Have a Norman Rockwell Day

Imagine you could make a living
painting a day of Thanksgiving,
bringing to life in colored content
how Americana lives are spent.

Look again into times treasured
lives on which moments were measured
see how painter exposed their souls,
from very young, to very old.

What made Rockwell’s gift so worth while?
This knack to make his subjects smile,
a grin, a cheer, a laugh, no sneers,
within their hearts you saw no fear.

So look ‘round your table today,
as you are granted freedoms, pray;
give blessed thanks that you can say,
“Lord, let this be a Rockwell Day.”

How could one ever miss the radiance of a
smile of a beautiful girl...now a beautiful
woman...with a gift...of words... which we
all savor...

Thanx KJ...

Karilea, A great poem, and love the sentiment. Can't miss that smile in the photo. Looks like that was lots of fun.  We're having a group of 26 with lots of diverse backgrounds and ages.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday and this will not be an exception; Yes it will. My daughter and her husband are hosting....now all I have to do is make the stromboli and a pie or two and show up....that is when it is fun, they do all the work and I play with my grandsons, and granddaughter, too, coming from out of town, whom I haven't seen in nearly a year

Smiling here, wishing you a great holiday, one as pleasurable as it looks in the photo.

Hugs and warm regards, Pat

Karilea, this is wonderful. I have to say that the title alone evokes WONDERFUL thoughts, one wouldn't even need to read the poem to be blessed with delightful hopes. Reading it was even more, esp. the attention to smiles on all of his subjects. Excellent piece!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,

Karilea, I love this. The poem, the picture,
the thoughts, and Norman Rockwell. I also picked you out, too.
