Free Like A Bird

I hide away from life,
I think I always have.
In my room of solitude
is where I live.
Away from the glare
of conditional love.
I would be happy to be a bird
that lives with the wind
free from things that grasp,
but thinking on this...
how would I use my pen?

Ha, being a fellow birdie-wannabe, i confess i have never thought about your ending lines before...i guess we should learn to be contented with what we have?

to live among them
if just for a day...
break through
this cage
and just
fly away

If you want to write, I'm sure you'd find a way....feathers make great 'quill pens'!! Good poem.

Deb, aye, there's the rub! But then again, perhaps you could put the pen in your beak! tehe

I believe I understood where you were coming from with this poem. Beautifully expressed.

~ warm hugs, dear one!

Thanks for all the warm replies.
I think when I wrote this one it was just- "one of those days".

Hugs,
Deb
