Mushrooms

One day I walked the caverns of my rind
And in the dark found mushrooms of a kind
Hidden away but feeding on bits
Infinitesimal bits of my wits

On boundless deems of left over schemes
Flowing the streams of left over dreams.
Lit a candle to light the strange find
And found them to be but growths of my mind

Clustered together in fear of reveal
From a creature that came and made them a meal
That picked them, pealed them and ate then at night
With a yummy crunch and sounds of delight.

Some mushrooms are a delicacy
They are used in soups and sauces in re
They spice up the dull and mundane of taste
So nothing is left that will to go to waste.

We all sew mushrooms go take a peek
They grow in the soil of meek and bleak.

(smiles) Yay!!! Oh my gosh, I love certain kinds of mushrooms, especially the shi'take mushrooms used in Oriental cooking! They always add so much flavor to a meal like bamboo shoots and saffron, yay, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Uhhh...Sigh...I've eaten a few of those mushrooms...and they weren't spicy to the tongue but sure were to the brain. I haven't seen a pitch dark night since. (Now ya know why I write what I write and it is so poor)...These didn't grow in the soil of the meek and bleak though....I think they grew in cow patties......?????

Mr. Seymour, I really look forward to the
"growths of your Mind" that you reveal to
us in the mornings. Just keep on revealing
to us. We love it.

  ~caverns of my rind~

  ~bits of my wits~

and the list goes on and on......

I enjoy this so much.

Ode To a Shroom

It rained one morning and then you quietly came ...
Some of you in bright colors, some brown and plain.
You appeared in bunches up the side of that hill,
Like soldiers on guard ... standing proud and still.
You came from the morning rain and a little humidity,
How I'm not sure, in the revels of nature, I reek of stupidity.
But if it stays cool you might last a few hours ...
I wish I could pick and keep you like a bouquet of flowers.
Instead I'll just sit here and watch you grow ...
And write this poem ... some will think silly, I know.

This is my tribute ... my poetic ode to you creatures of mold,
A growth of fungus ... by scientist's, this I am told.
But I think their minds of explain lack imagination ...
They miss the magic in their scientific examination.
If I sit here quietly I might see a leprechaun knocking at your door,
Or butterfly fairy ... they are all here, dancing on natures leafy floor.

(written for a class assignment)

your groovy shroom poem reminded me of this silly one I wrote a long time ago...found in in an old journal from highschool

Now we know what makes Randy so dandy...
its the magic mushrooms of you mind!!  *L*

*ww*

No one has ever shown me how to see the world the way I see it now ...

Noah,
Thank you for the read and reply.

Toe,
I think your talking about peyote or mescal buttons. Tried it once and that was enough.
Your not as bad as you think you are. Have a good one.

And I love you for the read and sweet replies.

Pat,
You have a sharp mind and enjoy your comments.

JM,
That poem was a delight to read, your talent showed up early.
The mushroom picture is beautiful but just shows the top, not the under side. LOL
And Dandy Randy is doing a dance in the romance of HIS mind.
Isn't it fun to fly like a butterfly?

Good morning, Mr. T.!

I would like to issue a warning:

Some of my faerie folk friends live under mushrooms and toadstools. I am asking all mushroom lovers who pick their own, to please consider the damage they are doing to the hearths and homes of the little people.

...Oh my gawd, I sound as if I have been ingesting a few of the more psychedelic variety myself! tehe

Great poem!
