It seems the tip of memory's dreams
have touched me in places
and ripped at my seams.

There are things and words that have to be said
notice I'm hiding beneath an emotional bed.

Hungry for the touch of honest tears
drained too much from insomnia's fears.

There is no form in what I write
desperate attempts not to be trite.

I work with fingers til the point of exhuastion
the thoughts that drain me are oblivious of caution.

Someone give me a sleeping powder
some magic thing for slumber's shower.

Trust that I might wake the next day
drained of exhaustion and void of dismay.

Is there a place where poets go
to sleep and rest where their dreams will grow?

Insomnia turns writing to mush
digging too hard in emotional slush.

Absurd these rhymes that fill my head
residue of a hard sleepless tread.

Awful this mood that creates this stuff
Poetry and rhyme edged in rough.

I'm falling again.

Only in the casting do "we" find a short respite. Sleep the sleep of the deep and know you've no reason to weep.

Temptress~ I really enjoyed this very much.
Often as I try to sleep words and rhymes just won't let me. I once woke up from sleeping and grabbed paper & pin & wrote a poem that came to me while I was sleeping...Paul

The thoughts that come from sleep when words speak in dreams.

Thank you.

If only I could remember in the morning
half of the poems I write in my sleep...
Much enjoyed Jenn.
I know this feeling well.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Jennifer, I know how you feel, sweet friend, I wish I could just dream all day and not have to worry about careers or expenditures or capitalism and be free living in my dreams, and I feel that writes the best poetry too, not to mention the most colorful! (sigh) Always follow your heart and write whatever it has to say, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jennifer, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
