She comes to me in still of night,
…I know not of her name,
And kisses lightly on my brow,
…each night it is the same,
I ope’ my eyes to gaze upon,
…the beauty of her being,
Instead I stare at darkened wall,
…no person I am seeing,
But yet I hear love’s melody,
…soft breath of muse’s song,
A symphony of heaven’s choir;
…sweet yearn of passion’s long,
It is as if muse Terpsichore,
…to me sings love’s rejoice,
As on my ear falls heaven’s grace,
…as sings her satin voice,
I close my eyes and in my dreams,
…feel touch of longing finger,
Gently brushing on my face,
…in soft caress of passion’s linger,
From out the night on welkin winds,
…to me Eros doth bring her,
To sing to me love’s madrigals,
…to sing of passion’s linger.
