Cross the horizon hilltop skipping
freedom bound...I have searched
and there is no longer a me
that I can see;

neither am I among the trees
sauntering without a care, admiring
as each leafed creation tumbles down
its vibrant colors denying death.

Since I have chosen nowhere
to go in the cars driving to and fro
there is not a me, I have looked
so I should know.

Softly touching your face
just before lips would touch in a kiss
desperately I look in your eyes
but regrettably I find there is not a me.

I breathe, I know that I must.
My hand on my chest proves me alive,
but I have succumbed, betrayed myself,
and I have left; there is not a me
inside.

jellybeans - sometimes I feel like I have lost myself. Your words really touched me to-day. Well done. Chris

beautiful...
I haven't read your work in a while, and its nice to have you back.

Love is patient, indeed. It endures the distance when it seems we cannot endure it ourselves.

Losing one's self is most disquieting...I love how you used external forces to reference existence...but it has to come from within...a search well worth making...very profound write!!

Cpat…..yes, I guess…but it is what is missing that is disquieting, sigh

Chris, thank you, have had this feeling for some time, but it hadn’t gotten to paper til now

suthern, lol, well lady as little as I write these days, I figured I better post as soon as it was finished so it wouldn’t be jinxed…and yep lady, that anchor in your heart, is a strong part of what keeps me going

two hearts…thank you, I don’t guess I have seen your name, but thank you for the comments…..have been working so hard that exhaustion takes my muse to silence..sigh

Thank you madame…..very sweet of you to say

scorpio, thank you…..and yes, I guess it is a search, I hadn’t quite come around to that thought yet…..thank you
