Swinging on the Moon
By Larry Chadwick
Inspired by a long ago night with Nancy Lee.

Our love intoxicated me,
It kept us up that night.
Spending time with you,
Until tomorrow’s daylight.

Looking into your tantalizing eyes,
Filtered by the bright full moon.
Time became irrelevant,
I could have stayed until noon.

Just the sound of your voice,
Made lullabies of your words.
Snuggled up so tight,
Even your thoughts I heard.

All of it foreplay to a kiss,
Seduced by the very thought of you.
Drunk at the idea of our future,
Sobered by a reality so new.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I know this feeling, Larry... and it is a very special one...
I love the poem and the way you put the repitition into it for emphasis...
I hope all is well with you

Lyra,
Well, thank you. But I had no idea! LOL Cleaned it up though.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

And I thought that repitition was there for a reason, Larry...
That shows how much I know

Lyra,
Sorry but dumb was on this end. So we're better matched for friends than you knew!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry, I didn't see it until you "cleaned it up", as you said. But, I feel like Kacy said above, this kind of love poem  COULD  be repeated

"Love makes the world go around"
~~with love and hugs from Ethel~~
