     Turn Around

I wipe the music from my eyes
it plays too moody and I would turn up corners
and lip-balm all this chapped
road     oh no not the road again that winds you say
knowing how many times I’ve traveled looking
looking for something that forms phlegm in my spirit

spit it out

yes this dance around the yard all flower
even in fall he grazes and yearns
to feel the callus that burns his palm
from the rake around   you know

and sometimes I am jealous of the garrulous garden
the way he holds it and touches the dirt with his big hands
and he listens to the chatter of the new green sprout
yet cuts himself again with the thorns now densely reaching
through all those weeds of summer
take me they say
oh  and he does with his tenderness
he bleeds

the music calls  to me with words
that fill the palace and fall out the open window
into the cool-down sun
and sometimes they are so big
and sometimes so quiet
that he needs to stand still long enough
to hear

my love voiced across the falling leaf lawn
onto the place where he digs for good feeling

turn around now I think to his silhouette against
the melting crayon sky
turn around and see my love

Left me aching for planting...

(why o why does everything I type come out that way???)

But I understand this all too well...

the longing for just a bit of nurture.

I'm keeping this one too mmmmmmarvelous martie!

(big hugggssssss) Oh Martie, I think we can all relate to these feelings where one can feel so shy or scared to turn around and all one needs is a lot of courage and knowing one is truly loved to show that lucid smile! (sigh) I send angel hugs your way, sweet friend, this is beautiful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Marti,

..."oh no, not the road again"...

.."looking for something that forms
phlegm in my spirit
   spit it out"..

This says so much; that it were just that easy, huh? ...spit it out, not ready for more growth...

Who could not know the depth of your love, just by reading you?
and who could not know the depth of his love, just by reading you?

He felt you. How could he not with the kind of heart and soul you exude  every time you write a poem.

I've re-read this a few times. You've added such detail, too much to mention. So creative, you are.

Thank you so very much for sharing your talent with us. How blessed we are to have you.

Hugs and Love,
Pat
