We Parted Yesterday

Walking on the promenade I pass
two lovers kissing romantically.
Making me painfully aware of a sweetheart
that simply walked away from me.
I begin to think of the tender
kisses we shared.
I ponder the posibility that
perhaps she never cared.
Life is funny that way.
I miss her desperately.
More today than yesterday.
Sad to say that we parted
yesterday.

James - oh, I hope this is not true. Your words are heartfelt and my thoughts are with you if this be so. Chris

You wrote this beautifully, James... but I hope it isn't personal...
I remember this feeling after my first husband died...
the whole world seemed to be coupled off and I was lonely

James, like everyone else, I sure do hope that this isn't personal. This poem really had a lot of feeling.
