4th birthday present - better than a toy;
this one will walk then talk and do so much else.
But years gone by and spark that was
is now a flame. Sweet, succulent fruit forbidden
By myself more than others to sufficient ripeness.
Ladon languid in front of the tree I fear no
Heracles. Only my own dragon's breadth and vile heart.
Soft toy touching, too often hugging,
Looking to my strength and warmth,
Thence to draw for her own usage.

This night I weep and cannot sleep
All the while imagining the other picking untouched fruit,
Duty over, heart broken - this dragon shall fade.

Breathe deeply. You keep dragon yourself forward in the heat of the memory.
