Transformed

I had heard
the beating
of my heart
hidden behind walls
clear silk cocoon
you saw
me wrapped tightly
captured in ice
and brought down
warmth’s hammer
shattering the silence
and the duckling caterpillar
spread her wings
to never again
be the same

I’m not disappointed,  I never expected anything from you.

Love is patient, indeed. It endures the distance when it seems we cannot endure it ourselves.

When we can shed the coccoon and still be loved, then love is known.

Thank you.
