Departure Late at Night
With Near a Full Moon on the Lake

We lay in half-sleep
Watching moonlight on water,
Outside window seeps
Cold of approaching winter,
We speak of orchids
And flowers that come in spring,
The garden is hid
By shadows the night will bring,
But we know it’s there
Even if beyond our sight,
But it needs no care
On this late autumnal night,
Leaving before dawn
Just after you fall asleep,
Too quickly I’m gone
To appointment I must keep,
Thinking of moonlight water.

I must say this Professor, but your signature "Gloom" seemed incongruous after such gentle and romantic words of love.....

Lovely!

Hey prof...I know you paint, but this startled me.

My sister managed to rescue one of mine from the garbage and this is almost a perfect description of the monochramtic study that I did...

amazing...you reminded me, and thanks.

(and you paint in word what I could not capture in oil...)

Thank you, Cpat Hair,
I did not leave anyone,
this comes from a story from the T’ang Dynasty
I just adapted it to a English Poetic form.
I’m working on the second part now
It pleases me you enjoyed this.

Thank you, Zinnser,
Glad you enjoyed

Thank you, Earth Angel,
Your words of praise are very kind,
But I know how the story ends.

Thank you, serenity,
I haven’t picked up a brush in quite some time
I just use the key board and dictionary
Pick the words and poke the keys
Glad you could glean an image

Professor, this is really romantic. I'm glad that you gave the explanation in your reply, though, because I may have embarraseed myself with my reply. It sounded so real and personal.....but, that's what good poets can do, right?
Thanks for sharing with us your talent.
