Lyra,

Your descriptions of nature are absolutely amazing. I do believe the study of nature is your forte and your signature.

"A steadfast santuary
shading and sheltering the valley below"

I could go on but, I'd only be repeating the whole poem.

Thanks so much, Electra...
Maybe I should have gone to the city commission and recited poetry instead of kvetching about how they were going to ruin the neighborhood with their stupid business park!
or maybe I should have gotten that into some kind of poetic form and read it to them!
But I don't think they would have understood it anymore than they understood what we did say to them because they never even listened.
I don't know why I am running on about all of that tonight...  I guess it still makes me mad!
But thanks so much for your very kind words

her palatial dignity
clothed in emerald and rock
an arboreal asylum
she holds us in thrall

we've scaled her lofty slopes
and tried to capture her essence
through brush stroke and film
=================================

wonderful write of imagery and theme!!
also enjoyed the vocabulary, assonance and alliterations.
perfect title choice as well ... beautiful picture.
well done poetess Lyra..so good to have you back in poetry land.

No one has ever shown me how to see the world the way I see it now ...
and I never saw blue like that before.

Lyra~ A beautiful write about a beautiful topic. Enjoyed.
I once drove through a cloud while riding to the top of a mountain and it was so strange & beautiful...Paul

Smiling as I found my way to the end of the line to thank you. These silvery slippers really captured me. Just another of the many wonderful works I have enjoyed from you Madame. Best Regards, ThisDiamond

Paul... thank you for your reply...
Riding through clouds is fascinating, but what I described in the poem was seeing the clouds around the mountain top from down below in the valley...
It really looked like a crown.
I have also driven through clouds and it is also a lovely experience
