They were sent from where the prayers all go, the saviours that all came
To be there when they needed to and advocate their name

There was one and sometimes many who would sooth what ached the mind
To give some love, some words of kind and joy we try to find

Their time was unconditional; their company was free
Time around them wonderful, the way that life should be

Giving to their fellow man the company of soul
The privilege of a friendship, which makes a person whole

Good Morning Rick, I like this.
A good feeling in it. It just about describes my best friend except she doesn't cultivate her name. She most certainly seems like  a  saviour to all who know her with her unending, unselfish love and empathy....and, she seems saintlike....This poem causes me to think of past and present 'souls'... the living and those on the other side...

Thanks, Pat

..without surrender, be on good terms with all persons..

Friendship is indeed a blessing. Especially if the friend sticks closer than a brother; and some do.
Enjoyed your poem.
