There must be a law of conservation in the universe,
Whereby those times we're feeling great are followed by those worse.
A simple law that explains it all, with theorem and postulates,
That explains why those who give of themselves have to hurt so much.

The flux and flow of conflicting emotions, the lows dampening out the highs,
Bring on a reluctance for accepting joy for fear of the ensuing sighs.
And so emotional downs hang around, because the changes are too hard to bear,
But the universal law demands a balance of the feelings we need to share.

Some look around and see others smile, and wonder where they went wrong,
Why the universal law doesn't seem to apply to those who are already strong.
Too timid or shy to question why, some suffer silently and alone,
While those who love them await the tidal flow that will bring their loved one home.

Into each day some rain must fall, and thereby balance the sunny climes,
For some it seems the torrents come too often at the loneliest times.
The clouds roll in, the sunlight dims, and overwhelms the blue,
And the only words that can lift them up are, "Darlin', if you only knew."

If you're feeling down, the universal law dictates a balance in the universe,
Though you feel remote your words can lift others from their curse.
You've touched those you hardly know, using the emotions you held inside
We thank you for being here for us, despite the sacrifice.

Michael, this is so well-written and with such truth. I hope Corrine sees it. I think it will help her.
Thank you, Michael for having such a compassionate and caring heart for others.

Michael - I am so deeply touched - tears gently rolling down my face right now - but they aren't tears of sadness. The kind of tears the kindness of another human being brings - soft, gentle and cleansing.

I will keep this forever.

Thank you!

Love,

Corinne

Yassee?...This is real easy for LongJohn, sitting on his 75 foot yacht, sipping on 25 year old scotch, two or three dozen Hooter's girls waiting on him hand and foot....When he's on top of the world, the earth doesn't rotate...he's always on top of the world. Ho hum....LongJohn made all of his riches by raising cats and selling the kittens to Snake farms thru out the world. He supplies live food to snake farms from Indonesia to Texas. Before this he raised Cocker Spaniels but the puppies were a little too large for some of the smaller species of snakes to eat so he changed to kittens. This is a very good write LJA, always enjoy your serious side regardless of your occupation.

You are not only a talented writer, but you have a caring heart and it is people like you that keep the world turning. God bless you for writing this for our sweet Corinne who was brave enough to share her pain with us. Gosh, I'm getting all misty-eyed as I am writing this!

~ May you both be carried by the winds of good fortune

An excellent compelling write of compassion. *S* Ya done good, sailor... and just think of the kitties that were spared in the time it took to write it! LOL

LngJhn

I know this wasn't meant for me, but I needed the wisdom of these words, just the same.  Thank you for your loving and giving heart.
