Mallards dog paddle
wet marsh, nature's haven for
glossy brown muskrats.

I love the images here...I've often stopped my fishing to watch the ducks..or sat back watching a muskrat chewing on a cattail stalk...the marsh is alive with many things to see and appreciate...thank you for reminding me of the many hours spent in the quiet world of my favourite wetland...

...believe what your heart feels...

Pat, I like this. I love those "wood" ducks, don't you? They look just like painted wood to me.

This Diamond, Thanks. Glad you could see the marsh, plus.

Scorpio, Thank you so much for going into detail with your answer. I wasn't sure if this scene would capture what I wanted. But, by your reply, I know it did. I was concentrating on creating a senrya (?), too, trying to use what I know. I grew up on Lake Erie with a marsh right next to property.... smiles to you. Thanks

and Seymour, a well done from YOU means a great deal to me....TY

Warm Regards, Pat

Pat,  I assure you that you captured the
scene well.  (taking off my marsh boots,
getting the mud off of them)  ...  I can
hear the ducks arguing....and see the
muskrats frolicking....

I like this.  In the salt marsh across the street there are mallards and often otters.  The mallards will take food from you, but the otters are always too busy playing.

Ethel, I love all ducks. Honest. I have a  mallard duck telephone whose eyes light up when it rings. When children were growing up they always knew what to buy for mom with few dollars they could rustle up...sometimes more...I have saved them all, dated on bottom...and have a dozen or more of various sizes....
Thanks for responding....but, what's a wood duck? (besides my telephone)
smiles....thanks.. Pat

Magnus, so glad...oh, I can see your red ears and runny nose...please, come in, leave your boots in the mud room, and we shall serve you a hot toddy to warm you. Or, would you prefer hot cocoa w. marshmallows? Thanks, Pat

Michael, How nice for you, to be so near the wildlife. Only things I miss from back east are the lake in summer and marsh in winter, which would have at least part of it deep enough to freeze so that we could ice skate. thanks for responding. Pat
