~* A Tear *~

A teardrop comes, I know not why
On edge of unsuspecting eye
It lingers there on sorrow’s brink
As though it needs some time to think

It knows not from which spring it came
For joy and sorrow both remain
Together in the breathing heart
So hard to tell the two apart

A tear of joy is one of grief
A drop of pain is joy’s release
And every time I think of you
My teardrops fall in pairs of two

But this one settled on my eye
The laden cloud was poised to cry
Buy didn’t stay to then explain
Why only one small drop of rain

A flashing moment in my mind
Of all the love we left behind
The glory won, the joy and strife
Wrought one small teardrop made of life

Dear Liz, this was wonderful yet again, you are a true poet, with the artistry gift to paint mental pictures on our minds with great rhyming and dancing words.

Loved it.

Sincerely

Midnitesun, Thank you for your comments. The truth is , I start writing without a definite subject and never know where the poem is going to go. Nothing planned, it comes out just like an unsuspected tear. THank you

PoetryisLife. Thank you for reading. Too bad you missed the beautiful gtraphics that Mysteria added later (without my knowing). It fits the poem so beautifully.

Pat, Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad you liked the poem

Gentle Spirit, I love your adjective, a "hug maker" THank you

Rick, Thank you for your generous comment. I appreciate it very much.

Mysteria, You snuck that one in , in the middle of the night! I got up around si and found the beautiful graphic you designed and put together. I don't know how you do it. Thank you for enhancing my poem with this lovely artwork. You are always full of surprises!. Thannk you, sweet lady.

garysgirl, Thank you so much, now half the credit goes to Sharon with a face that leaves a lasting impression.

Liz,  soft as a tear upon the kerchief of
a waiting hand...Expressing all of the
emotions so well...I have shed these tears,
as well as that one tear...

Thank you very much for this gift...
