The Mountain and the Sea The mountain stands so high, the sea so low The peeks look down on majesty below Aware their lofty presence cannot hide The power of the ocean’s mighty tide The sea looks upward to the mountains helm The white capped peeks so close to heaven’s realm From canyons of the earth it cannot rise To meet the starry winks of heaven’s eyes A tree between the two looks up and down From life’s beginnings to it’s sparkling crown It’s summer shade is where I like to dream Two mortal figures resting in between Elizabeth Santos Nov 14, 2002 [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (11-14-2002 08:37 AM).] |
