If I could call upon the gods,
...to grant but one request,
I would seek muse Terpsichore,
...to serve at my behest,
To pen an ode of love divine,
...of beauty and romance,
A symphony, a lover's waltz,
...by goddess of night's dance.
Then Terpsichore in harmony,
...with nighttime's welkin choir,
Would sing her ode of love divine,
...to strains of Eros' lyre,
From forth the heavens high above,
...would flow sweet ode's embrace,
As I would take you in my arms,
...fair Rose of gentle grace.
Two joined as one in sensual dance,
...to ode of Terpsichore,
Entwined within love song's romance,
...we'd dance 'cross heaven's floor,
Trembling as the harpist's strings,
...her music would impart,
Unto our souls a love complete,
...would lance within our hearts,
For sonnets penned by muse on high,
...unto the world bestows,
The wonder of love evermore,
...the splendor of the rose.
O' how I yearn for Terpsichore,
...I hunger for the night,
So I can take you in my arms,
...to dance in heaven's light.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

love the subtitle...

but don't go mocking yourself either, or I'll get mad at you--and? We wouldn't want that, now would we? *smiling sweetly*

Nobody does it quite like you, Tim.

You manage this style quite naturally without superficiality or pretension. Reads beautifully aloud, and resonates silently, yet musically. Beautiful my friend.
