The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2002-11-13 04:46 PM

A mist rose up to stroke my feet
as I walked on down lonely street
An owl called out through the night
as though he understood my plight.

The shadows held me in their arms
strangely I felt no sense of harm
comraderie with all lost souls
seeking for what might make us whole.

The moonight sparkled though the mist
reminding me of his last kiss
A moment passed in other time
where once I dreamt that he was mine.

One solitary lamp still glowed
slowly I turned toward my abode
and walked back to my lonely place
where darkness held me in embrace.

Sandra,

May your future be as bright as your past! Peace to you.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Lonely street....perhaps all cities have
one of these....a very worn path,  walked
by many....

Excellent poem Sandra,  stop walking that
street~~~

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

Aha! You return bearing a gift.

Glad that you've recovered your muse, Sandra.
Been missin' ya 'round here.

Looks like others have as well.
