Missing You

tonight you are so far away
in the hour that should be sleep
so I crawl to the space in this bed
that normally you keep
to the place where only you should be
that night reserved for you to reside
quietly here I am missing you
for tonight you are not by my side
miles and miles away from me
warm comforting presence that I miss
sleep is not all that I lack
in the absence of your kiss
so tonight on your side I lie awake
where you have so tenderly dreamed
listening to the silence drip in dark
as miles away another heart lies awake and screams

I’m not disappointed,  I never expected anything from you.

Beautiful. That warm body next to you is easily missed!

Very Nice
Hope you find the warm body you need
Till then you might use a pillow
To fill the place, just not the warmth

Great poem. Thanks for sharing.

I wish to become a great poet some day, but it will only come in time. Til then, I shall write my poems, and wait.

There's nothing worse than an empty cold bed! I hope the space is filled soon.

I enjoyed this, although I'm sorry you're alone!
