Moved from a shack to a barn

A damaging impurity
Embedded deep within,
Begged soothing

Slowly,
Steadily

Insulating nacre

Filled,
Built

Rounded layers
Of luminous light

The glow from this,

Your iridescence,

First led me to find
The pearl

That is within
You

Wranx,

I wasn't understanding this poem at first, but the ending just brought it all into beautiful view. Thanks for sharing.

It's hard to know what to say sometimes after reading your words. I'll just leave it the surface, then. I loved it.

I had a thought...
as I read your words a first,
second, then third time,

that this is how
a woman comes
to glow
when a man loves her

the right way.

Mother of pearls often grow in the womb of frustration. Your poem is such a pearl.

Metaphorically beautiful...love starts as a speck of emotion within the our shells..and in  "luminous light" it's built in layers to become a pearl of devotion...fantastic verse...

...believe what your heart feels...

This demonstrates a deep and thoughtful man's appreciation of a woman's inner beauty.

Metaphorically divine

I love the way you peel back the layers and find the beauty within...
