A protective arm stretches across her, blocking a rejected lover. He would crash against her shores, pry sandy fingers back to pilfer her beaches. Winter magnifies his strength - ironfisted waves blast and chisel at her bluffs. In time, he will erode her until her banks are diminished into glass granules. Tonight though, curling tendrils of fog caress and a coral sunset on her calm waters blushes, the curve of a conch. Corinne I spent some wonderful times at Bodega bay...sounds like it hasn't changed in all those years since I was twenty. Your poem, lovely! |

Thank you so much Magnus! Just returned from this magical place (where they filmed "The Birds"). What atmosphere, it almost defies description! Pat - thank you as well! Thanks, VAS! Sunshine - you are such a supportive writer, I have always felt close to you, thank you! Thank you kindly TOHHHHHHHH! Captain - thank you!!! Martie, curiously, it has not changed much - yet. But I did see a sign posted on a bayfront hillside that boasted of 70 new houses in development. Made me sad because it's still so rustic and so unchanged that I was amazed. Even the drive over, the land is still pretty much cattle ranches and cute little towns. Cor |
