O, but to become
more than just a speck.
Carried effortlessly through time
as polish comes upon a silicon
bit of life.

Mere parcel of sand,  single
drop of life.   Living that the grit
might become noted, wanted.

Not
spat  from the mouth in disgust,
nor flung from the nail in haste.
Between the fingers of the earth,
rolled back and forth, as one mere piece,
once formidable rock, having slain the giant
.....silently falls
into the endless abyss of silicon lives...

Unseen, not heard....noted
only within an hour’s glass.
Awaiting the silent scream of
the fall.   Into a pile of noted
unmentionables.

Waiting shoulder to shoulder
for one more turn.

Lost within the flow.
While yet another grain is
wiped from the open book’s
page, falling silently,
unheard...

Noted only for chafing one’s
shorts while mouthing the
words....   Kiss My Grits!!

You took a deep thought,
and sprinkled a Flo'ish smile
over it.

You're good...you really are very good! Some very fine  and cleverly written passages. Impressive!---and with a surprise twist that made me read the poem over again to be enjoyed once more!

Here I was, following the deep poetic line of thought, and then there you went! You got me.

seriousness fantastically done! all to often, somewhere in the future, we will become nothing but passing grit, but never, ever to those who have been touched by our lives, and never to God,
in that hope must we rest

Loved reading your powerful poem! Would love to share it with others.

Just goes to show that for every deep and profound thought, there is a totally undeep and rather smart alecky thought.

Thank you.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Barry, this is fabulous, sweet friend, you speak of such truths here and I only pray our motivations can change as a whole! (sigh) To be the sand with the ocean is a virtue, to be the grit on anothers asphalt is a whole different story, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Barry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
