Why do you see so much wrong in life?
While other live in the glory of it
In things so sweet
Why must they sour in you?

In the endless battle of self reflection
Trying to find the right image
To deal positively with living
Why must you always distort things?

In the bumps and bruises of existing
Why must the terrain inside
Need an all terrain vehicle
Riding in such highs
And ever greater lows

Reality is that some of us
Are specially blessed
At the same time
Maybe a little cursed
With such depth of emotions
Riding storms of vulnerability

In the boundless vocabulary
Of a dictionary’s great power
An ever expanding mind grows
Never ending changes
Effected by society’s challenges
We must then seek the opportunity
To claim the purpose of our frustration

For things come done to some simple facts
We are loved by so many, some strangers
We do have something special to offer
In the spirituality of our inner independence
Being so darn expressive

Thought: Personally I think what I can have to offer a world that seems so negative. Then my mind charges up in such positive adrenaline, that I again short circuit in my own doubts.

Sir, sounds to me like you have very much to offer. Just keep being yourself.
I love to read your poetry. It really makes me use my brain, and that's a good thing.

WOW!  Thank you for this and all other of your recent poetry, I've read.  To say I enjoy it tremendously, is an understatement. Your poetry keeps waking me up. My brain's been on auto-pilot for a decade+... I'm thinking this kind of writing just might be the key to jump-starting it, and getting the flow going once more.

If not, that is ok, too. I still adore your writing. And gain much from  it.

Thank you,
Warm Regards,
Pat

D Lester,
what a perfect line is this, it says so much

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
