The boredom was overpowering,
Some kids just fell asleep.

We were waiting for an assembly,
Out of boredom began to weep.

Just when we thought we'd die of frustration,
We heard a piercing shriek,

An angry cat up on the roof,
was screaming (so to speak)

We waited for another sound,
And suddenly it came,

The sound of a dog falling,
Obviously in serious pain.

Then one after the other,
We heard some frightening bumps,

And angry dogs and cats,
Falling with loud thumps.

For a while we felt confusion,
Then the speaker phone came on

“The assembly will now begin,”
We all started to yawn.

The cats and dogs kept howling,
And one kid raised his hand,

“It’s raining cats and dogs out there,
All over the land!!”

Liz, this is so cute, just like your picture is. You sure do have a lot of talent for a young lady your age.
Thanks for sharing your poem. I enjoyed it.

Wind,
well that's better than it raining Datsun cogs. Imagine those on your roof.
