Give Me to Happiness

Give me to happiness once in a while
Outline my lips in the form of a smile
Let laughter’s fingertips brush back a tear
Stroking my eyes with a glimmer of cheer

I would relinquish these hours of pain
I would abandon without any shame
The soft tears of sorrow that fall through the night
I will concede them to tears of delight

I’ll acquiesce to the pleasure of life
I will surrender the memories of strife
Let sweet songs of joyfulness call out my name
And I will succumb to contentment’s domain

An easy transition I’m willing to make
Just a moment to alter the many mistakes
I yield to indulgence, my eyes want to smile
Please give me to happiness once in a while

You and I are on the same wavelength this morning, Liz ... I've found my mind wandering in this same realm.  Beautifully flowing, with a tinge of regret and remembrance to bring the want and need for happiness to light. Enjoyed this very much.

Best wishes and warm hugs,
/Kit

Dear Liz, I wish you all the happiness in the world, but may I say your gift of words should bring smiles upon your face, you place images in our minds, as we flow with the beauty of rhyme that is you.
Thank you for sharing this with us all.

Sincerely
Rick

Ah Liz, Your words flow perfectly upon the page and bring smiles of happiness to those who read them.  This is so very beautiful and much enjoyed.

Dear Liz,

As I recall, your lips were smiling all the time, your eyes were shining and you hugged me a lot

Little secret: maybe, maybe I may see you again next year....we're working on it!!

Elizabeth,
Such an artist you are and such a wonderful heart you have. This could well define my last six months. You do your craft with excellence. A keeper lest I forget that life is about more than loss. Thank you dear lady.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Liz

You always write with the grace of understanding, and even a sad heart becomes beautiful.

Mrs. Santos, I heard you laughing on the phone yesterday about your new Rotatoe Peeler, so we know you can laugh.  Now if you did a poem about your awesome floor washer then you can get me laughing

Beautiful poem Liz truly, but you know I just "have" to leave these comments, you ask for it!

Liz, your poems bring such joy and each time you write one, I can't wait to read it. I'm sure there are many others here that feel the same way.

I hope our joy brings happiness to you.

Blessings and hugs, Marti
