Fatally joined,
row by row,
thin cardboard cutouts.
Singular,
when ripped from their
imprisoned matchbook,
but uniform
when therein contained.

Such simple
inconsequential lives.
99% of it spent in confinement,
sheltered by the matchbook’s walls
in blissful nescience.
Yet all things will eventually see some light.
For a match,
it’s in the final 1%
of their unenlightened, mundane lives.

Randomly torn
from their
blissful existence,
one by one,
they all suffer
the same fate.
A brief freedom;
a briefer singularity;
and then,
the eventual demise by flame.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Melissa, this is so very true, sweet friend, the stench of life is only so valuable, that's why, like I said in a poem I wrote, don't play with matches! (sigh) You are a wonderfully talented friend, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Melissa, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Ah but the excitement they at least know before the smoke.....some don't get even that enlightenment. Enjoyed.
