(Tonight this wonderful variety show celebrates 40 years on the air thanks to my favorite TV show host, Don Francisco! Yay!!! Ole!)

Sábado Gigante
By: Noah Eaton
11/9/02

Flanked by gorgeous models time after time
Praising a detergent's quality you never buy
Born Mario Kreutzberger to your German-Jewish parents
Traded your name to get in tandem with the audience

So trade that beefsteak for a bowl of soup
Mix all the ingredients of entertainment is quite a coup
Of politicians, game shows, magicians, and dancing mamacitas
We follow your heart to the Walk of Fame with a parade of fiestas

Don Francisco, you own the crown
All across the world you make every Saturday party out loud
You are what makes every gigantic saturday
Your youthful spirit will always reign

In the City of the Lions, come and sing with all charisma
Rise to the podium and bow, Miss Chiquitita
Do you see the hangman tooting his trumpet?
It's "The Jackal", so better sing as best as you can or you're lions breakfast

Don Francisco, you own the crown
All across the world you make every Saturday party out loud
You are what makes every gigantic saturday
Your youthful spirit will always reign

Perky, spunky, funky, and tongue-in-cheek
A heart of a star all the way from Chile
Not even the American Bandstand or The Ed Sullivan Show
Could endure as long to your legend as a host

Don Francisco, you own the crown
All across the world you make every Saturday party out loud
You are what makes every gigantic saturday
Your youthful spirit will always reign

Long live Saturday
Long live Saturday
Don Francisco...

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Noah,

Even though I do not know of the show you speak about, I still really enjoyed this poem.
