Not a Word

I felt the cold of mountain stream
That gushed through boulders pure and clean
And, oh, the mesmerizing thrill
To bathe myself in summer dream
That swiftly flowed in water’s chill
Though not a word was so instilled

I’ve known the glory of the sea
That rocked me with intensity
Then cradled me on gentle crest
But silent lips were never free
To say what settled my unrest
And not a thought did I address

I am of passion’s natural kin
I feel the fires of love that singe
And burn in flashing eyes of night
The embers harbored deep within
To light the flames in starry light
Sweet phrases I could never write

I had no way to speak my soul
My ship’s adventures in the hold
There to remain and not depart
For life was cruel and love was cold
And so my silence from the start
Were verses hidden in my heart

Then life took twists and wrenched me free
Of all the words inside of me
The secrets hidden in my net
The things I’d never let you see
I’ve bared my heart and soul, and yet
Today I haven't one regret

Today I haven't one regret...

You do these with what appears to be little effort, but then, coming from a natural poet...what more can we expect?  Truth, beauty...all from your pen....

We'd have had waves of regret had you not taken up the pen, or should I say baton since this wonderful verse is nothing short of melodious.
