Of All of These
By Larry Chadwick

Hope’s greatest value was displayed,
In my deepest time of sorrow.
Lost in the despair of today,
You showed me your plan for tomorrow.

Faith’s greatest value was displayed,
But not when first it was received.
That gift took on new meaning,
Long after I chose to believe.

Love’s greatest value was displayed,
Ages before I was known.
When you died upon the cross,
And your true character was shown.

It is said that the greatest of these is love,
And I have no doubt that it is true.
But in my time of deepest need,
It is hope that sees me through.

November 9, 2002

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry, this one really touched my heart. Aren't we blessed to have been given the greatest gift of love in the whole world...the gift of God's   ONLY  begotten Son. And just think, Jesus didn't even have to stay on that cross, but did so because of His  LOVE  for all of humanity.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
By the way, the Bible does say that "Love" is the greatest of all three, but "Faith " and "Hope" sure do help us to get through trials and tribulations while here on this earth, don't they?
God bless you, sweet Larry.

Sincere, wise and lovely, Larry.  You've been through a lot this year and your strength is an inspiration to us all.   God bless you!

g,
You are welcome and thank you for such kind words. I was doing a study on "hope" and found it is something you "have" not something you "do". And Paul describes faith, hope and love as a package. So off my mind went.

vandana,
You are indeed a faithful friend. Thanks.

Sue,
But hope still sees me through. Thanks dear friend.

Ethel,
You said it so well. Thank you so much.

White Rose,
Your thoughts are very special. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Michael,
It has been a tough year. And thank you for your kind words. But I must say God continues to bless my life in amazing ways. Thanks.

Noah,
Yup, you are so very right. And thank you for your faithful kindesses.

Denise,
You are a friend of such deep integrity. I am truly thankful for you. Thanks.

Karilea,
Awww, the setting for which it was intended. Bless you sweet friend.

Kacy,
I have incredible peace of mind dear friend. Just occasional bouts of tears which trouble me not. Wanna trade in the camel?

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

passing shadows,
It seems your handle is so appropriate. Remember those shadows are only passing by not staying. This link is some of the places that help me think about tomorrow:

Larry darling heart, oh how I’ve missed you and your outstanding ability to write, and when you write like this Oh wow. What do I say in response to this, nothing for you leave me speechless with envy, blown away by the power and the majesty of your words. Now tell me that you doubt your skill as a writer, now tell me that this is simply something you jotted down in a quiet moment. You cannot expect me to believe that this gem of wonder was not crafted carefully, the words placed within it carefully and precisely. This is incredible writing, and I love it utterly, it is beautiful, in its construction, it is beautiful in its sentiments and it’s beautiful because it is from your soul’s experience.  Written with the pen of a craftsman. Excellent language usage, the flow utterly perfect and YOU know that I love it.

Absolutely wonderful darling heart, utterly utterly so

Ahhh, but can we survive life with just one of these alone? I don't think so, as I feel they are all interconnected.

I loved this so much.  Great writing my friend ... Hugs, Marti

Marsha,
Dear girl you are endlessly generous with me. I'm not sure how it is I deserve your kindness but I'll take it. And I promise not to tell you it took me three minutes to write this. Thank you sweet friend. Are you sure you weren't thinking of another poem?
